It’s almost time for the 2019 NAPLA Conference! We look forward to welcoming you to Boston this week and are writing to share some important pre-arrival information.

Whether you are checking in for the Conference at Northeastern University on Tuesday or Boston University on Wednesday, luggage storage will be available at each location should you require it. Please take a look at the Conference Page on the NAPLA website for the complete schedule and directions.

It’s been beautiful in Boston for the past several days, but the forecast for this week is less than stellar. Hopefully, it will change a bit, but for now it looks like we can expect at a minimum some cloudy days, and perhaps a bit of rain. We encourage you to bring an umbrella/rain gear since there will be a bit of travel on Wednesday and Thursday. Also, it’s worth remembering some comfortable shoes!

We’re encouraging our Conference attendees to join us in a couple of sustainability initiatives this year. We encourage you to bring a favorite water bottle (maybe one from a law school you’ve visited, one you’ve picked up at a fair, or one from your own institution), and we also encourage you to bring a lanyard to use with the name badge we will supply. Both the water bottles and lanyards can work as conversation starters, so we hope you will enjoy doing this. No spoilers, but the gift we will receive from Northeastern Law in our Conference bags also fits this theme. We think you’ll like it.

Finally, don’t forget to bring your business cards for the Law Fair! Once again, we’ll have some great prizes available for a few lucky people. Why not you?

    See you in Boston!

The Northeast Association of Pre-Law Advisors is excited to announce the creation of New York Connect, a one-day program for pre-law advisors to be held at Fordham University School of Law on Friday, February 15, 2019. Modeled on the Boston Connect program that is now seven years old, NY Connect brings pre-law advisors together at a local law school for panel presentations about hot topics in pre-law advising as well as networking opportunities. It will also feature a presentation by the host law school and tours of its campus. Continental breakfast and lunch are included. The cost of attendance is $35.

NY Connect is open to all pre-law advisors, although the one-day format makes it especially convenient for those within the New York City metropolitan area. We expect to begin around 9:30 and finish by 3:30. We are in the process of creating interesting panel presentations, and if you are interested in making a presentation, please email NY Connect Chair Tom Rozinski at thomas.rozinski@touro.edu.
