NAPLA will offer a limited number of scholarships to its 2019 conference.
NAPLA will waive the conference registration fee (including thew one year NAPLA membership fee) and offer scholarships of up to $1,000 to Pre-Law Advisors who wish to attend the 2019 NAPLA Conference in Boston, and whose institutions are unable or unwilling to provide funding for conference expenses. This scholarship can be used to help defray the costs of attending the conference, including overnight accommodations at Northeastern University dormitory, and transportation. If you have questions, please contact Dianne McDonald at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Who Can Apply?
All pre-law advisors who are NAPLA members are eligible to apply for a conference scholarship. These grants are intended to provide assistance to those pre-law advisors whose institutions cannot or will not provide funding for conference expenses. In awarding scholarships, preference will be given to those applicants who:
· Are new to pre-law advising; or
· Have not attended the conference in the past
How Do They Work?
Scholarships are awarded based upon available funds and the number of qualified applicants. If awarded a conference scholarship, the recipient will need to retain receipts for expenses incurred for conference registration and qualifying transportation. All scholarship recipients must stay in the Northeastern dormitory since it is the lowest-price option. These receipts will then need to be submitted to NAPLA, along with an expense form, at which time expenses up to the value of the scholarship awarded will be reimbursed. Reimbursement generally takes up to three weeks from receipt of completed expense forms.
How Do I Apply?
Completed applications must include two documents. Both documents MUST be complete and received by the application deadline in order to be considered for a conference scholarship.
1. Scholarship Application Form: This form is completed and submitted online. All fields are required, and applications must be complete to be considered submitted.
